Competitive Shooting Update

Monday 26th September 2022

Back in our June newsletter we brought you news of our journeyman finisher, Melissa Callum as she took part in a number of competitive shooting competitions, which we have been proud to sponsor and support. Melissa has had a busy few months since then and has updated us on her many achievements. At the end of August Mel travelled to Ireland to shoot for the England Team in the Olympic Trap Home International and took 2nd place individually and as a ladies team.

She returned to Ireland a couple of weeks later to compete in the Automatic Ball Trap (ABT) Home International. She and the team enjoyed huge success, finishing not only as winning ladies team but also overall winning team. Mel also took home England ladies high gun and overall ladies high gun. Her winning streak did not end there that weekend she went on to compete in the ABT British Open and won ladies high gun.

In her final internal competition of the year, Mel travelled to Wales to take part in the Commonwealth Shooting Federation (european division) Championship. Despite a strong start, she was sadly unable to maintain this form into the finals. However, as Mel says "it's all good learning for next time". We would all like to wish Mel huge congratulations on her achievements this year and look forward to following her progress next year.
