On the 4th of December, we once again hosted the lovely ladies (and a few gentlemen) of the Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club, an award-winning ladies shooting and social club. Four groups of mixed ability, ranging from complete novice to experienced shot enjoyed a stunning sunny autumnal morning with an hour’s guided tuition from our instructors, followed by an informal competition across four stands.
A welcome break in the forecast weather saw unbroken blue skies and lovely, crisp and bright conditions for the club members. Welcomed by club host Julia Truscott, teas, coffees and pastries were served before a quick briefing with our instructors and a group photo to mark the occasion.
The group were treated to an exceptional mornings shooting, full of smiles and laughs. The novice group received an hour’s tuition, whilst the intermediary and advanced groups took the opportunity to have a free roaming practice hour within the grounds. This was followed by an informal competition, held in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. An extra treat for one lucky shooter she was able to shoot with her new gun for the first time, following a fitting that morning.
Shooting was followed by a return to the lodge for house-made mince pies and English sparkling wine with a relaxed prize giving for the high guns. If this sounds like your cup of tea and would like to find out more about this vibrant and fun club, do visit their website for further events and activities.
